Last week, as part of Elitch Gardens' annual October Fright Fest, the amusement park hosted a pet costume contest benefitting the Denver Dumb Friends League.
There were three categories: best pet/owner combo, most original and the funniest pet costume.
"It's an event people look forward to, though unfortunately it rained that day," said Chris Gallegos, spokesperson for the Denver Dumb Friends League. Despite the rain however, cats, dogs and even goats made an appearance for the contest.
Gallegos said that entry fees directly benefitted the shelter and that they raised about $800 that day.
